DEALER AND INSTALLER TRAINING SESSION

Core Energy hosted a dealer and installer training session at the Kanata Lakes Golf and Country Club in Kanata, Ontario.  Al Davies, P. Eng., of Eco-options GeoSolar in Cambridge, Ontario, came down to offer a course in design, application and installation of ECR/Earthlinked Direct Exchange (DX) heat pumps and Northern Heat Pump (NHP) water-based systems.

The course was attended by representatives of a number of Eastern Ontario companies.  In addition to general information on ground-source heat pump technology, Al covered all aspects of system application, sizing and design; piping and controls; installation tips and practices; and start-up and commissioning of water-based and DX heat pumps.  Al very helpfully brought along an Earthlinked DX Heat Pump demonstration model, along with piping and manifold samples, to help participants familiarize themselves with our equipment.  At the end of the course, participants completed a written examination leading to installer certification for the systems presented during the sessions.

In addition to Al's presentations, Danny Smith, our Vice-President, gave a detailed presentation on ongoing Core Energy projects, and provided an overview of the specialized equipment provided by Ecologix Heating Technologies for use with water-based and DX heat pumps.

Based on initial feedback, the session was a great success.  Core Energy will be hosting similar dealer and installer training sessions in the near future.  We also plan to bring Al back for specialist training seminars.  Our next event will probably cover installer training in fusion welding techniques for polyethylene pipe.

(No substitute for hands-on; Al points out the features of an Armstrong dual pump module)

Core Energy extends its sincere thanks to Al for two excellent days.  Hats off as well to the Kanata Lakes Golf and Country Club for their outstanding preparation and administrative support.

Here's hoping you are able to join us at future training sessions.  Keep checking our website for course dates and registration information!
